Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Well I think I survived the 8 hour power cut yesterday.\
Rcom incubator plugged into 300 watt inverter
- Inverter plugged into SuperCheap Auto 1200 amp battery pack
- Battery pack attached to battery charger.

Charger keeps battery charged up. When power cuts out, battery takes over.
Incubator doesn't miss a beat.

To cute.

@birdman55 - your coops look great. Would love some of that snow right now. It was 39-40 Celsius yesterday, and muggy and warm again today.

@satay is correct, I think the news says something like 2/3's of Qld is drought declared. Those poor farmers out west, I really feel for them. Many have lost most of their livestock to starvation and have no other choice but to sell their farms and move on at a big financial loss. They need rain desperately.

It sure is sad, Alot can't sell their farms so the banks take them.. . What a lot of people don't realize too that it is ths farms out here that supply most of the fresh veges to brisbane.. The poor farmer out here are feeling it too. Most i have seen have bores but the cost to run them makes their profit margins alot smaller than they should be. We have friends in kingaroy who are dairy farmers. He said from lack of rain there last electic bill was $40 000 for 3 months.. It makes you wonder how the poor things survive.

Well done Ash. That is a long power outage.

The trouble with qld is it can be dry dry dry then you get flash flooding!
We've been on level 2 water restrictions my whole life as we are rural, it increases at times last year even we were level 5 which is buckets only. Lots of crops waiting for some rain around here, my family have dams on their properties but they are no good without water in them! the sky threatens but it goes around us and hits Brisbane, storm forecast again today but I don't think we will actually get wet, just lots of wind and heat.

Birdman55 What a gorgeous collection of eggs! I love rainbow clutches :)

Good luck ashburnham, power outages always happen at the worst time

We are only an hour from kingaroy so pretty similar situation for the farmers around us

Can relate to the going around. There is nothing more heartbreaking. I don't have a dam but my neighbours up the road do. She said it's the first time in 25years they have lived there that the dam is bone dry.I hope you and your family get some much needed rain soon.
