Luke i have been sending eggs through aust post for many years now. Unfortunately they do not offer a fragile service nor will they allow you to insure eggs so it is pot luck that they make it ok. I have had most of mine make it well but one lot i sent to S.A was totally trashed by Aust post.

We should get something together to help make a fragile section to Aust post (doubt it will work though.lol.).

vinegar is essentially an acid and it will corrode metal and the metallic particles will be in the water your flock is drinking.

It is potentially very dangerous depending on the metal your waterers are made of

I will PM mine for you in a day or so....LOL I reckon the dog after a while he runs from her mostly but has tried to nip her threw the wire mesh run while she attacks back Oi Oi Oi its driving me nuts.... the only reason Sam does not attack the chickens is because I AM Alpha in this household..... LOL and he is scared of making me angry I might kick him out of the pack.... Cattle Dogs are too smart and too loyal.

Yes I have done Luke except Northern terriorty haven't sent eggs there yet.

Have you ever had one of those days where you wish ya never got out of bed and ya have only been up a few hours lol. Finally heard back from the council after the neighbours dog attacked Zeus Monday afternoon. Now they are saying that they can't do anything because they went to see the neighbour and they said the dog was on the lead. Zeus thankfully only has a few puncture wounds to his nose It think it is a rather sad when your animals have been killed and now your dog attacked by this dog and there is nothing you can do unless you get photo graphic proof of the attack happening. They did suggest I go to the council and hire their dog trap. .. Already done that before and could not get the ruddy thing to go in it. Then he suggests an electric fence... Done that before too. I can't figure why it is my responsibility to keep their stupid dog out of my yard... .. OK rant over .. Back to chickens lol.

Satay - I have dealt with these problems over the years, and have come to the conclusion that morons will never act responsibly or change their behaviour.
How much are your animals lives worth? It has always worked out cheaper in the long run to surround my property with strong, electrified dog-proof fences.
