Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Soufflé is also excellent in using a lot! Of eggs

I'm not sure I'm quite up to soufflé. Bit embarrassed to admit I don't have quite the glut that I did as I decided to boil a dozen for a ceases salad and eggs for hubby's lunch the next day and I ...burnt them.....

Did you know eggs explode if you over boil them......

Glad you found him a new home.

Thanks Satay.

Baked cheesecake is one of my favourite desserts! I tend only to make it when I have people over so I'm just checking to see what's coming up that I can use as an excuse to try out that recipe. Hmmm...

Appps, I didn't know that they could explode & I'm pretty sure I've burnt boiled eggs too. Perhaps you burnt yours differently to mine.

It's more like a baked custard to me but still tasted ok.

I think I'm going to steer clear of iso browns in the future. Kfc has had nothing but problems.
Found an shelless egg attached to her bottom this morning. I let it go hoping a chicken would peck it off. But nope. So she's had her 2nd bath in 2 months to clean everything off. Vent is clear amd now her best friend is trying to help prune her.

Thanks Satay.

It has to do with how long you burn them. Years ago I went to tafe 45 mins away and left some on the stove. By the time I remembered and got hold of someone with a key to go turn them off they had exploded and were embedded in the mesh of the stove exhaust, and there were bits on the ceiling.
Luckily this time I heard the pop as the first one started to go so was spared that clean up again!

I thought I'd share this result regarding the Caboolture Market because I'm pretty sure the folks in this site in the area will want to know about it.

From statements made on FB.
"The recently formed consortium of hobby breeders presented a detailed proposal to the Caboolture Show Society Committee last week, looking forward to working with them to achieve a more holistic approach to management of the market poultry shed. Quite detailed, it outlined preventative and protective measures for disease and pest control within the shed environment, along with much needed improvements to to the facility fully funded and laboured by the consortium - no cost to the Show Society. Our proposal was voted against in last Sunday's meeting."

"Caboolture Poultry will no longer attend the shed, nor will several other reputable breeders. An alternate venue is being sourced now that will be clean and hygienic."

Managing disease when birds are kept close together for any length of time is tricky. It's very disappointing that their proposal was not received with enthusiasm.

This little one hatched yesterday, unfortunately mum left the other eggs so he/she is a loner.

Five weeks ago a Wyandotte got off her eggs on day 18, did not notice for 3 days. Shifted them to another hen, got 80% hatch/ survive by day 25!!!
Eggs were STONE COLD!! Strong chicks will survive!! Just moved them to an outside brooder as we have had 9 degrees C most nights.

Good luck

congrats on the hatch fancy...I should be putting another batch of eggs this coming Thursday....well best of luck with the new ones....enjoy...hope everyones day is going great
