Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hi everyone, still waiting (im)patiently for the first egg from the girls.  Went up after dinner and gave them the scraps from the veggies (sprouts, broccoli, mushroom plus a little fatty meat) and they came running up to see what I'd brought then everyone was digging in nicely.  After a little time with them went back and kept going with house stuff.  Was about 5 or 10 minutes later than usual when I went to put them to "bed" for the night in their room and when I went in there they were already roosting, so just had to close & lock the outside door, say goodnight to them (with a little pat and cuddle of course) then left them for the night (after checking food & water levels).  Was a pleasant surprise to find them already roosting for the night :thumbsup

Does anyone else have their girls do that?  As in put themselves to bed?  Or is it a "normal" thing?

Yes that's normal.

It's normal. It's just a matter of working out what THEY consider bedtime :) and heading up just after that.

He is a beauty Fancy. I just love how clear his lacing is on his breast. How old is he now?

@tandykins I'm impressed with your illustrations. They are beautiful.

@satay how big will your snake grow and can you keep him when he's fully grown? I must admit I've considered finding a local snake breeder to donate my male chicks to for when I do a wellie hatch in the distant future. We got far too attached to Toothless (my last roo). My husband wanted to know if we could take the kids to go and visit him.

Thanks, Cwrite and birdman he is still young as he has no sickle feathers and the saddle feathers have some more growing to do. This is my ' keeper ' blue laced red wyandotte. He has good type and his lacing is coming through nice and dark.

Mila being a female can grow up to 12ft. Males don't get quite as big. She is a forever snake for sure. Mila has been handled by sons mate from the day we got her. She was a 2 year old then. Mila is 8 years old.
