Mine is the 1/3 and mine was missed as a kid (9yr). I took off on my horse after a shouting match with my folks. But my nan rescued the day turning up later with a cake and her gift

My nan has never forgotten (or my new friends) even when my folks have during the years.

So..... Moan away and know that your friends at BYC all wish you the best year a head

Hah! Most of my friends have 4 legs. Couldn't think of a better way to spend the day than with your horse. :D Good ol nan, I miss my nan.

Anyone had experience with a rottweiler and chickens together. Just adopted a 7 year old boy who is a massive couch potato in behaviour. We know he will fixate on cats but easily snapped out of it and has no trouble passing dogs in the street and is obedient with simple commands. Anyone know if at 7 years old can be taught to not go the chickens? I havent tried him as yet.

My only experience was not good. I had a pair of rotties visit my flock whilst they were still sleeping. I lost 13 chickens . :(

Thats what i was thinking..... lucky his a inside dog and we take him out the front and for long walks

I guess it depends largely on the way the dog was brought up, but better to be safe than sorry. :)
I have a ridgeback and a german shepherd and they regularly have to shoo chooks out of their feed dishes. Our horse ' rusty ' has killed 3 chooks though. He takes offense when they jump into his breakfast.

I do not spend a lot of time on FB but it has some good qualities in that I can easily share pictures with friends and family if need be.

As you know, I spend a bit of time in here, but that is because, besides hubby, no-one else gets my addiction to our beautiful feathered friends and you don’t all roll your eyes when I mention them (well, not that I can see anyways .. lol).

Tee hee Sam, yep, someone is molting! I hope she does not end up looking like Dusty!

No experience with dogs and chickens, sorry. I have, however, a current issue with cats and chickens! Over the road’s cat has decided that it would like to spend time in my garden, stalking my gals. I have two cats of my own but they are inside cats with a fenced, outside play area. I believe my coops and run could not be gotten into by said cat, but I do not appreciate having it in my yard when I keep my cats under control.

I would never do anything to harm it, but I am chasing it off on a regular basis and utilising the large water pistol! Hopefully it will decide that the crazy lady with the water gun is just not worth the effort … either than or I will have to have a chat to its owner.

They rent and I do not think they are allowed to have animals because every inspection the two dogs and cat go missing until later in the day!

I do not know how they are going to keep it under control but if it continues to visit, they are going to have to find a way.
