White chickens "dust" bathing in mud !

A free mud mask for the entire body :lau

Dammit! Help! I was out hanging the washing and the chicks were playing and i turned around and one was standing oddly...when i went closer i heard him wheezing. He has cracks in his beak, his ears and eyes are bleeding, as well as his nostrils and mouth. I have taken him inside and he is in the hospital box but i don't really know what to do! He is wheezing occasionally and blood and fluids are leaking and the area above his nose is swollen. I can see a lot if blood inside his beak. No idea what happened! But what do I do to help hom?

I don't know...there was nothing around to injure him...they were just playing under the tree...his crop is really swollen but that could just be food sonce it is 4.30pm...his face looks like there is a lot of pressure built up. And the vet won't visit and I cant get to them.

Do the rest of the flock have access to them ? If so it could be a peck injury. Wheezing is a sign of upper respiratory stress.

Maybe one of them got him through the fence...but I didn't think they were that close...maybe he got caught up in some wire or something...i just went for a look but couldn't pinpoint the cause.
He is sitting quietly in the box and his eyes won't open. I don't know yet if he will live and apart from keeping him warm and quiet I don't know how to help him.

I've had a roo rip a hens comb off through the fence. Older birds go straight for the head.
You are doing all you can. Warmth is the most important thing. Do you have a wound care spray ? Hope the poor little thing pulls through.

Poor baby. I have wound care spray but i am not sure where to spray yet...as soon as he decides whether to live or die, I will start coaxing him towards living...he just needs to decide so I can help him...
