Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Good morning folks :frow

Really Mother Nature?  For me? A broody!  You shouldn’t have … No, seriously, you shouldn’t have!!

Yep, just 5 weeks and 17 eggs after the last bout with broodiness, KiKi is once again broody :th   And here I was hoping that was it for this year .. stoopid summer! lol

Fizzybelle Bea and Agnes are beautiful!

MyHaven how about Miss Prissy for your new girl?

PS.  I forgot to mention ... my good little girls allowed me to sleep in until 10 to 6 and even then they did not wake me up.

Yes my Fraidy has succumbed and is clucky too. My first thought was why now - I have week olds in the brooder. My second thought was hmmm I wonder what eggs I could put under her?

Crappy ph pics but these are 2 of my cuckoo prject araucanas. A crele and a cuckoo. And one of my new trio of aplash laced gold wyandottes.

I particularly like your new one. Stunning.

I would also like to see a couple of your turkey pics.

Hey all, just though I'd share some photos of my babies. They turned 20 weeks on Saturday and I think could have started laying as we had a couple small eggs yesterday (including one broken one I caught pepper trying to eat (hope that didn't give her the idea to start breaking them herself)

And no photoshop involved, they really are that green even in the shade :)

Thanks Satay! I posted the question in the D'uccle thread, and got another vote for quail :) Watching her grow and change is going to be exciting :D

Question about broodies, as I've never actually had one, but am anticipating it with Agnes ( given the reputation of Silkies) and Esme (my Pekin who should start laying in a month or two). So is summer the season they go broody, or just warm weather basically? I'm guessing if that's the case they calm down over winter then? Just so I know when to potentially expect it. Thanks.

Appps, those are some STUNNING girls! You must be so proud!

Satay, I saw that post too late unfortunately! There's a very large devil on my shoulder already poking me to get more Belgians.
