Is there such a thing as TOO many ducks 70%cocoa???
I know space does come into it and living in a suburban area we must carefully balance space and noise issues...but seriously- 20 something babies in 5 brooders ( 6, 6, 6, 2 , 1 in each brooder ) - and and 5 separate groups out side and then of course there is Ollie my disabled boy.. they really keep me very busy- but I wouldnt want things any other way. At a count of over 40...and one goose... I know this number cant be sustained year round here where I live- But since young ducks under 12 weeks of age dont come into my head count... well...things arent as populated as it first sounds. " officially" most of mine live at my block of land in the country anyway...
My one on its own was a thiamine deficient ducky I am looking after for a friend, but she is nearly well enough to go into a brooder with some " normal "ones. I dont want her to go home just yet, But I know she does have to go back soon.
