I had to go out so didn't update right away from my earlier post, but it took about 45 mins, and Beatrice let me know all was over with a well earned egg song. I am gobsmacked at the size of this thing! Considering the bird it came from, it's huge! No wonder all the complaining! Amazing effort for a first egg, so proud of my little whinger. I hope she goes to bed with minimal fuss tonight after such a big day.

Nooo Bea's a D'Uccle, hence my surprize at the size! I should have taken a photo of the little monster to go with it. Agnes is my Silkie, yet it looks like it might be slightly larger than one of Agnes's eggs. When Aggie starts laying again I'll compare the two. Bea though must've felt sooooo much thinner after laying that!
