Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Our first evacuee. Our little pigeon you may remember from earlier in the year.

He is basically a ground bird because he's a bit deformed in the legs so while the cage is not totally underwater he is sitting in all the soggy wood shavings rather than up on the house. So he was all wet underneath. His room mate is smart enough to stay in the house so I've left her out there but he has come inside. At least he is well behaved and just staying in his box :) because I've got the two sick chickens in the spare bird cage in the garage so have run out of cages!

Do you have a big Red Cross on your roof?

Do you recall Fancys recipe, I think she posted it to help Colonel?

SilkieChickStar I am not sure about the wind drying the paint where you are but right now, here it is trying to peel the paint off surfaces!

BOM says the winds are predicted to be 15 to 25km/hour, my sweet pattootie they are! More like 50-60km/hour!

We have Maple leaves blowing into our garden and no Maple trees around here .. hubby reckons they have blown in from Canada! Lol

Nope sorry. I just took bits out of it at the time that I had. Till you get it I would do some rolled oats but with more water than for porridge then strained at the end so it's not all gluggy. Oats feed the good bacteria in the gut so they breed and multiply so help probiotics work better

Add a probiotic. I tend to use a powder but many use yoghurt. If she has been on antibiotics that's going to be a must!

Then scrambled eggs is great for protien.

Fancy tends to add canned tuna but my nose won't go there lol. Hubby is even banished to the garage when he eats sardines

Then I mix it all together with some of their regular food so they are still getting all the vitamins and minerals in that.

I'm trying to find a care recipe that @Fancychooklady posted. Are you around Fancy? Did anyone save it? I looked through Fancys posts but can't see it and thought I had screen shot it but evidently not.

It is a recipe to help put weight back on after being sick.

MyHaven you may have missed it in my earlier post, but is not the above what Fancy recommended?

Yep, it will fatten them up and at the same time the mackerel will provide them with amino acids and omega 3's. Cooked rice is the best option for sick birds but for healthy birds cooked ( no name ) pasta is very popular , mine literally chase me down for it. I also give the dogs a treat and feed them this recipe occasionally. :)
Hope everyone is staying high and dry. :)

Thanks very much. I'm going out to buy fish. I appreciate your help. So glad I bought a box brooder big enough for an adult chicken.
