Welcome to the newcomers and a big welcome back nutcase.
Apps, could be cecal lining as Satay suggested.
I would have been tempted to cut it open, could be part of a lash too.
I was looking at my 9 year old gold laced Wyandotte yesterday and thinking that she was looking pretty good for an old brood.

Love your photos looks like you have a nice yard for your animals. Do you have problems with Foxes?
Nice to see another West Aussie.

Hi nutcase

Good to hear from you. A bit before my time, looking forward to some photos. Good luck.

We lost my little Sussex girl at the beginning of the week. Hopefully that's it now, that's 3 in the last couple of weeks. I'm thinking of doing another hatch soon. I need a few layer again. Out of 22 girls I'm lucky if I get 6 eggs.

Teila Good luck with the new builds I hope everything goes quickly for you.

Good morning folks

Nutcase I lived in Darwin for 3 years after sailing a yacht up the West Australian coast. Beautiful part of the world!

satay I can only hope my gals live that long. Any chance of a picture of your white faced black Spanish, I would love to see her?

Great pictures TheChookChick78! Reggie in the grass gave me flashbacks of Jurassic Park and the raptors

These just in from Forrest Beach ....

The rotary clothes line has been erected. Can you see Jessie? [near the fence] While she is FIL’s girl, I will have a dog in my life again! As you can see, I have my work cut out for me in the garden but I am going to love every minute of it! So tropical and green and less neighbours!

My compost bin aka the gals’ bug dispenser has been set up and apparently already 2/3 full.

This is where the fish ponds are going.

This a present hubby bought for me.

The timber for the coop is being delivered on Monday!

Back to packing and giving away/selling stuff! Have a good weekend everyone.

Looks idyllic, sounds like you are keen as mustard to get going. Good luck with the move. Nice to have a dog again.

HI everyone I have found some stick fast fleas on the comb and around the eyes of some of my girls. I looked on the pest thread and saw some interesting info. With some people using Frontline. As I have my own chooks so I don't have to have chemicals I don't want. I was wondering what other people use to control stick fast fleas. I went to a couple of pet shops stock feeds and mostly they recommend a powder but none of the specified stick fast fleas.
I was also told they don't bother with dogs or humans is this true. I use DE on the floors and in the boxes under the bedding and wood chips.
Thanks for any help.

Hey LuckysMum I have not had any personal experience with stick fast fleas but strangely enough, because of something I read on another thread, I was researching them just a few days ago.

Not sure about humans but everything I read indicates they definitely do stick to dogs and cats and the transference from chickens to dogs is quite common.

I personally have no faith in DE, you'd be better to use a pyrethrum based product . Many are using ivermectin products and there are small bottles available in the ornamental bird section of the pet shop. Frontline contains fipronil and can be extremely toxic to chickens , so I'd give that a miss.

New Chookpen and our house (taken with my new drone) Reggie the turkey on the guinea fowl eggs Muscovys Some of the gang Guinea fowl Peacko the peacock (he's only 2 so lacking a pretty tail yet!) Wyatt and Winnie the wyandottes Reggie the turkey Winnie, Old girl the isa brown and one of the unnamed Barneveld x Whitey and her babies. The oldest one is feathered but not yet fleged Hi all..Im a newbie to BYC - just joined today! I live in Esperance WA and have a bit of a zoo going on! I have budgies - including 3 sitting on eggs and one that hatched 3 babies a fortnight ago. I also have a MASSIVE recently revamped chookpen, that is home to a Wyandotte rooster and hen, a turkey, a peacock, 3 Barneveld x rhode island reds, a lavender Belgian, an isa brown, 3 guinea fowl, 2 handraised Muscovy ducks, an Appleyard drake and his sister, and a pekin duck - oh and a pet sheep at the moment cause we're refencing her enclosure at the moment! There's a strange thing happening in my chookpen at the moment - my turkey is sitting on guinea fowl eggs. They were laid over the past fortnight and the guinea fowl hen was sitting on them, but she got off one day and he took over. Odd hey!
:welcome
