Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

The seller has cleared up the mystery of the yellow chicks. They are French Wheatens, apparently the breeding project went wrong, and didn't breed true.
I am not at all worried about it, I had actually thought it would be nice to have some Wheatens.

Never mind, I found this post.

Unless there are any other tips and tricks for getting pullets off to a good start in life?
LOL OMG I forgot I posted that!! 😂

I don't feed them Grenfell any longer as they hate the raw lupines in there. There's also evidence that raw legumes are toxic to chickens unless heat treated or at max 10% of feed content. I'll feed my chooks VSF pullet grower, their products are really good.

Hmmmmm.....fair enuff! Seems like these kinda things happen more often than it should....like for instance the two cockerels I picked up a couple of weeks ago were meant to be pure SLWs but turned out to be GLW x SLWs... the breeder said she got the eggs from someone who didn't manage their flock well....she only realized it the night before we met.

If I were being serious about breeding them or something I might be more upset, but as it is I've got my Marans, and thats the main thing.
