Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

😂😂😂 you must b well & truly Zombified now!
I only got to bed at around 11:45, as there was no way I was going to leave them stuck in their shells!
That's actually really good for shipped eggs from Tas!
Yeah, I quite happy right now, as at least with 7 there's a fair chance that not all of them are cockerels. (in the past I seem to have had some rather bad luck with cocks)
All I really want is two pullets.

I’ve tried the low humidity method… doesn’t always turn out well… I’ve found that having the humidity up around 60-70% for incubation and 80-90% for hatching is the best bet.. but you did well all things on considering
Thats interesting, rather a lot of people thought that lower was the way to go. I'm thinking I might do a bit of experimenting with my own eggs, to see what works best for me.

It was a bit early, they hatched on day 20.
That may potentially cause issues - your incubator temp is definitely too high. Is your incubator fan-forced?

For the first half I had the humidity at around 30%, as I was dry hatching, and then upped it to 40% for the second half.
That seems about right but it's important to keep an eye on the progress of air sac size. A few BYC articles illustrated that very well.

At lockdown I tried to get 60%, but over shot and it was at 75% for maybe an hour of two
No probs so long as it's above 65% at lockdown it won't be a problem. May be a good idea to do an eggtopsie to see what may have gone wrong.

Another thing is that a few of them had crooked toes, they seemed to have fixed themselfs over though.
Just watch out for that - you need to fix that prob within the day if they don't remedy that themselves.

Here's a pic of them, it's sleepy time!
I take them to the broody as soon as its warmed up a little more.

Contrary to my dear friend @Poultry mum....sorry darl don't mean to contradict you! But I did high humidity for the first 17 days & I had 50% malpositioned...with one dying at external peeping and another dead in it's shell with loads of liquid swishing around inside...the best is to keep humidity low & monitor egg sac..

It is, and I was having a bit of bother keeping the temp steady, once it got rather hot and I was worried that I might have lost them, I think its this incubator isn't the best.

I was mostly going of how the eggs under hens look, and adjusting the humidity accordingly.

I did open them up, but the only thing that I'm sure about is that they didn't try to hatch, Nothing else looked off to me, but I could well have missed something.

I'll do another check, but I think they're all good now.
Does it mean anything when that happens? like temp to hot or cold?

All good… as I said before outside humidity does play a huge factor… and my room has 2 tropical fish tanks and the other birds as well.. my incubators are both located under the chick tank so that plays a factor… not to mention all the rain…
