Not much going on over here today. Just the usual daily chores and duties. I had cleaned out my chicken coops and am about to fire up my incubator again to see if it still works properly. Hopefully it does.

Currently just working on breeding black English Orpington’s for now but I will need to get a new rooster before next year.

I haven't done any hatching yet but I've got two Barnevelders, an Australorp, a Sussex, two ISA Browns and two bitsas. I had a Dorking pullet who was wonderful but sadly she didn't thrive and I had her put to sleep earlier this year.

Hey, how’s everyone doing?

Hey...busy busy busy.. haven't been on BYC for a while as doing a facelift of the interior of the house.. replacing the ugly beige coloured walled to greys... much better! Still have to work on stenciling one of the kitchen walls and doing a mural in the bedroom.

Just popped 15 eggs into the incubator on Monday and my 8 week old pullets will go to their new homes end March - thank god! It's getting a bit crazy in the chicken alley... too many chookies at the moment!

@Sussex19, sorry I didn't get round to posting the link to the vent-sexing videos.. the truth is I did try to find them a couple of weeks ago when I manage to squeeze in a bit of time.. but 20 minutes into searching a huge thunderstorm came round so I had to switch the modem off .. and then I was inundated with more work again! I can't find the actual vids but check on Youtube as there are a few that may be of interest...anyway I don't think I'm really that great at vent-sexing.. the black one I vent-sexed and think is a boy is probably a girl... see pic below (the one in the middle).

I'll have a look sometime when I have chicks again, and see if I can figure it out.

Yes, she is. Her, a couple of the Sussex pullets, and one of the cockerels are going to live with a family member on the weekend.
