Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks :) .

I think you could count this as my first hatch.
I have had some broodies hatch a few chicks ( max 5 ) in the past but I really didn't have much to do with them.

Oh well then, you are in for some " happy days "

Thanks.

Red, I'm up to 4 chick. 2 Araucana's and 2 White Leghorns.

Just a Q, There is one egg ( Marans ) that has got a hole in the sell but the sack is not broken. So really it's not pipping. Is this a problem? I think it might be from the other chicks. They really are making a mess.

Congratulations everybody :) some beautiful babies :)

I had my first power outage while incubating the other day. Was out for About ten hours but we managed to get a generator (partner's parents kindly offered) after About three. It had gotten down to twenty degrees then later when the thing ran out of fuel it got down to twenty-five. Do you think they'll be ok? Some are on hatch day now and can't see any wiggles yet and the others, in another incubator, are not in Lockdown yet.

One did hatch yesterday morning but it was left over from another batch as it was running late. I don't even know how late it was, must check, but was like a week overdue. Was extremely weak at first but now is just like any other day old :)
