Great! Glad the weather doesn't effect them laying too much then
I wouldn't say that, the cold definately slows them down and in the spring/summer they moult which also ceases egg production.
I thought they moulted mostly in autumn?
We've only had a small molt so far with ours, and trying to think but guess that would have been autumn/winter.
I'm not sure if I'm dreading or curiously looking forward to the frizzles first full molt after seeing they had to give the frizzles their own category on the worst molt contest lol
Oh true! Yeh sorry it was a reply to SandeeC about her chickens not missing a day laying
Love their names. So beautiful babies! Congrats.
Thank you happy
Worst part about them, I have them in my room at the moment so the cat doesn't get to them, I was dead to the world, woke up in shock cause I thought something was in hurting them.
Jumped out of bed, kicked my toe, only to find them chasing a moth that was attracted by the heat lamp lol
Little buggers. OUCH.
Hoping I can go back to sleep now
Very nice Ash
Yes I agree my hens tend to lay all through winter and are starting to slow down now.
Mine love chasing moths and bugs. I have mine outside in the covered area. Hubby would never allow them in the bedroom
Aaaah I understand that one But I live on my own with my boys so no one can tell me not too
I have a wild cat getting around, so these guys will be sleeping inside till they can run into the box in their coop
