Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I thought they moulted mostly in autumn?
We've only had a small molt so far with ours, and trying to think but guess that would have been autumn/winter.

I'm not sure if I'm dreading or curiously looking forward to the frizzles first full molt after seeing they had to give the frizzles their own category on the worst molt contest lol

Oh I was egg-static when I got my first :)
My Isa's were born on 5th December last year, got told they wouldn't lay till after winter :)
Got my first egg in May :) Was so wrapped :)
We already had zero temps of a night time by then and everyone was shocked that they laid so soon :)

It's actually winter that makes them have a tendency to go off the lay :)
I was lucky, mine started in May and haven't missed a day since :)

I wouldn't say that, the cold definately slows them down and in the spring/summer they moult which also ceases egg production.

Oh true! Yeh sorry it was a reply to SandeeC about her chickens not missing a day laying :)

Thank you happy :)
Worst part about them, I have them in my room at the moment so the cat doesn't get to them, I was dead to the world, woke up in shock cause I thought something was in hurting them.
Jumped out of bed, kicked my toe, only to find them chasing a moth that was attracted by the heat lamp lol
Little buggers. OUCH.
Hoping I can go back to sleep now

Aaaah I understand that one :) But I live on my own with my boys so no one can tell me not too :)
I have a wild cat getting around, so these guys will be sleeping inside till they can run into the box in their coop :)
