Hi I'm in Brisbane Australia and new to chicken raising. I have 5 chicks. 3 rhode islad reds x white, and 2 bonds x australorp.

Just wondering, can I recycle my dried out palm fronds/ leaves in the bottom of my coop shed mixed with shredded office paper and hay to build up and turn over regularly, mixed with thier poo? We have too many palm tree fronds drop all year and dry out.

She has baled up the cattle dog and the kids twice and breaks the eggs that are not hers... Turffing her out of the coop/nesting boxes hasnt worked this time.

How many times will they go broody in a year approx ?

I Also caught up on the posts and im sorry to hear about the losses and Loved reading about PRECIOUS.

Oh Sam sorry to hear your family have been sick. My Aussies normally only go broody once a season but my pekins...... well seems like they are broody every other day.
