My Kelpie pup "Sally" is also obsessed with
the smaller chickens. I make sure she never has access to them though.
Only the older roosters who soon put her in her place.

Wow lots happening - I hope someone will breed up the JG as its $600 / day and thats not including the testing not to mention the facilities are booked for 3yrs and tentativly for 5yrs (aprox $44,000) to use as you import the fertile eggs then Quarantine hatch and test prior to release about 12 weeks later

Still no movement on the baby front yet. She is now 4 days over due so hopefully anytime soon. Love everyone's hairy people My dogs don't think they are dog's so we call them hairy people lol.

I hope Bub arrives safely and healthy but don't we alarmed till Bub is 10 days over. Both my boys were 2 weeks over.

I notice a few kelpies, collies and healers here, what are your opinions on the best dog breed to have with chooks. I am looking into dog breeds for the new year, I have a small yard but would keen to walk him/her daily so keen to hear peoples opinions.

Apparently if she has not had the baby by boxing day they are going to induce her then. I only have one son and he was 3 weeks early so I have no experience with late ones myself.

I have a border collie cross who will try to round up the chickens if they are free ranging. Our akita/cross mastiff will pull feathers out of them if left alone with them so that never happens. He is only 12months old tomorrow.

It has been so good to see everyones dog photos. I always suspected that poultry lovers were also dog lovers.Re best breed to have with chooks, it is ALL about the raising, although the terrier, kelpies, cattle may be a bit more obsessive, if you teach them early not to hurt, they will be fine.

Satay, my little one - under 4kgs full grown is a toy poodle x mini foxy. NOT from a dreaded puppy farm, 2 girls, one with a champion show dog toy poodle & the other with a very small foxy female just thought why not? Here she is all grown up.

Mally - my big girl is my rescue dog, she is great dane x rhodesian Ridge. Found her in a pound the runt with 7 brothers, chronic gastro , really ill. I paid for her to at least let her be warm & loved if she died. Here she is with her home made Pjs on. She is 9 yrs old now.

I have so enjoyed all the dog photos. Lets keep each other updated on our beloved Aussie mutts. Have a great Christmas everyone.
