Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Thanks guys. We are kind of on the fence about whether to fight it and keep the kids pet rooster or call it a blessing in disguise. He hit puberty about a month ago and while he behaves with me and hubby he will attack my older two kids given half a chance and has a real hate on my youngest. Actually don't think it's a hate, suspect its more a desperate need to not be at the total bottom of the pecking order, but he actively watches her and has even tried to attack her through the fence. I don't trust him for a second out with her.

So we are starting to think maybe this is a good way to rehome him without dad and I being the bad guys ;-)

Still sad though, he really is a nice little guy even if he doesn't like kids.

Biggest question is how to find him a home that isn't just going to kill him. Or as I've just discovered happens here, feed him to the local crocodile show :-(

Know any one wants a really cute frizzle rooster?

Oh appps, i didn't realize it was your frizzle rooster, i would snatch him up in a second if you didn't live so far away. I'm not sure how to find a good home, just put an add up and say in it not for eating, or pet only bird or something along those lines. Good Luck.

I am not sure apps maybe try gumtree. Make sure you list that he is not to be around small children though.

Hi all, I can't post in buy sell trade for some reason so I thought id post here- hope that's ok.
I'm in gippsland Victoria and I have a barred rock hen and rooster. I only have one egg a day but I can't possibly incubate and hatch all of them. Already have twelve incubating, no idea what I'm going to do with the chicks.

So.,
Does anyone want some fertile barred rock eggs? Free of course, although if they need to be shipped I would appreciate some toward that cost.
Here is a picture of the parents chillin in the kiddy pool on a hot day :)

I would be interested I'll send you a pm.

Yah Luke. Congrats on your broody Frizzle. Does that mean you want some eggs soon :) pm me if you do. You know I think I have one too. I let the banties out to free range first thing in the morning and yesterday I realized I had not seen my frizzle girl. I think she is in the back somewhere on eggs. I guess I will have to wait and see now if she turns up with babies.

I will see by tomorrow if she is a fully fledged broody. She sat all day Sunday & Monday with breaks in the afternoon and Mornings. She doesn't hiss, cluck or squawk when you go near her on the nest and she will only sit in one nest (the one that every one like to lay in

). I tired moving her at night (last night) and she would have any of it, so i will leave her in her nest now but others may push her off when they want to lay, how can i stop this? (anyone?)

you can't really luke if she decides she wants to stay there. All you can do is to mark the eggs you are going to let her sit on and then remove any fresh eggs laid by the other hens. I have a malay game that wont be moved if she is broody. I think at the moment in the main house we have something like 10 broody hens. Son has to throw them out of the boxes each afternoon to collect eggs.

Oh I'd love BR eggs.. Opinions on transport to Newcastle NSW?? Will they travel ok..

Most use Aust post. Whether they travel ok is up to how each postal worker treats the package. Posting eggs is a gamble but worth it if you want new lines or breeds you can't get close by.
