Totally unrelated but its 6:20am here and the rooster has crowed non stop since I woke at 5:45. Good grief!! I hadn't realised how long it went on for!!

Does anyone know if this. I have never heard of it until i got this months Australasian poultry mag. There was an article on the social networking side of poultry and this website was recommended. it seems great, have a look.

Sorry, I have absolutely no idea. There was a thread asking for them in NSW, so i was asking around for him as so far he hasn't made him/herself present on this thread yet.

Depends on the breed. Some have limited laying careers but live to 15 or 20

The production breeds don't seem to live as long.. Say your isa browns . They are more a breed for high egg production but maybe not as long a life span.
I have a bantie cochin that is 9 this year and a black sex link that is about to turn 10.
Ash has some old girls too.
