Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Not sounding good Luke for any more maybe leave it til tomorrow and then see. Glad you managed to get some to hatch though shipping eggs can be hard on them. Sometimes the air cells get detached and they never develope.

Yeah, we will see!
I finally did everything right this time so I thought at least 8 would hatch but perhaps it was not to be.

Sounds like you did great Luke. Picking up of eggs for hatching is always best of course but I have had various hatch rates with posted eggs( I have received) from 12/12 cochin eggs to the worst of 1 out of 36 quail eggs. I have noticed distance does not seem to matter too the cochin eggs were from Nsw and the quail eggs from north side of Brisbane. I think a lot comes down to the handlers in Australia post.

hey colourful what do you mean you cover your water trays with foil? is that the tray on the bottom of the hovabator?

i think im going to have the worst hatch this time around, on the 17th day nothing at all, no movements no sounds of chicks calling each other no pipping at all. might be zero from 120 eggs.

just trying to recount what went wrong, did have a power out for about 6 hrs, then had really high humdity for about a week. i did move them from one room to another room,

if i dont get anything from them saturday then i will throw all eggs out and start again.

i set eggs on the 19th feb  96 and 20th another 24, now i know the eggs are fertile as byc memebrs satay and kylesquails had a very high hatch rate with my eggs.

so can anyone shed some light?

Hmm not sure Sam. Sounds like something may be not right with the incubator. Have you calibrated it?

Yeah, there are so many variables you couldn't ever find the problem and fix it.
I am going to wait till Sunday morning to see what is inside those eggs.
