Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

No I haven't apps but I would take a sample to the vets to be sure you know what you are dealing with. Glad you quarantined them. You could try worming them, too appps if they have not been done already. Let us know how you get on.

A small country drive

, I think not. More like a 9 hr road trip.

Sorry appps, That is one thing I have never gone into...diseases.

I would raise them off the floor though. If they are on the ground then you are infecting the ground so that ground will now have cocci in it.

Speak to Colourful about it, she has it in here ground!

Colourful GET ON here we need your HELP!!!

Wish you could tag people.lol.

O.K appps, I had to go back into the dark depths of this thread to find this.lol.

This is the conversation I had with colourful. Hope somehow it helps.

Sorry to crash this thread but for anybody who has needed to treat cocci in chicks...what did you use and where did you get it from?? Thanks
Started out with this guys asking about it.
Then Ash gives him a site for a medicine to use for cocci.
There is baycox, which is expensive but one of the best on the market. There is also a powder that you can buy at most produce stores called
Amprolium 200 which is okay (I've heard) but not as effective.

I really hope it all works out for you, I've got Coccidiosis in my soil so I know the pain of it. Good luck!
Colourful suggests another med.
What do you mean in your soil? Is that how its caught?
haha, you the ask this.
It is around here. I found out with my first ever lot of chicks. At about six weeks they went into a growing pen and had access to the ground during the day... I lost about half before I knew what was killing them.
and then you left...I think. Colourful explains.
Oh that sucks. So can you not raise chicks any more? or do you just have to keep them elevated?
then I ask.
I do have chicks (in fact I have some hatching right now :) ) But I keep them elevated for the first couple months while slowly introducing grass and dirt from different places around the farm. When they go into the their bigger pen, it's deep litter to keep them just a little further from the dirt plus I used to give them sulpha-quin (which was great until they stopped making it) now I just put some powder in their water when it get rainy or if I have to have them crowded for a couple weeks. So long as you keep the run clean and they don't spend too much time on soul while they're young, I find that they usually do okay.
Then colourful says what she does. You might want to do this before you have a chance to get to the vet or talk to colourful.
Amprolium.
I couldn't remember the spelling, but here it is. It only helps there own immune system to fight it off, not a complete vaccine.
then this.

This way's faster than me typing it all up. It's not as useful as Sulpha Quin and baycox is ridiculously expensive.
here is the site.
About $20 for 100g depending on where you get it. I order it in from my local produce store.
price.

O.K hope you understand my cryptic message, just want to help best I can. Good Luck.

Apps I have had girls with worms - one arrived with them as I had a sample done and hers was different to the other type I had here. She would sit too and was eating and drinking, she lost weight and her crop was feeling full as that is where the worms were living... Hope that helps - she was pooping as well, just not very happy. The vet 'drenched' her and gave me stuff for all the others as I believe better safe than sorry - I didn't drench, I cheated and put it in mince for them all to eat...so much easier!

Does it matter what chili plant i get? Still waiting for my mint cuttings to grow roots - haven't had time to go to the nursery to get any as I am most impatient - I have some growing outside but fairly sure pulling it out to move it won't bode well for it, my thumb is only half green...
