No I haven't apps but I would take a sample to the vets to be sure you know what you are dealing with. Glad you quarantined them. You could try worming them, too appps if they have not been done already. Let us know how you get on.

Started out with this guys asking about it.Sorry to crash this thread but for anybody who has needed to treat cocci in chicks...what did you use and where did you get it from?? Thanks
Then Ash gives him a site for a medicine to use for cocci. You can buy the drugs online from Bellsouth. http://eshop.bellsouth.com.au/epage...?ObjectPath=/Shops/bellsouth/Categories/H/CCD
Amprolium.
Colourful suggests another med. There is baycox, which is expensive but one of the best on the market. There is also a powder that you can buy at most produce stores called
Amprolium 200 which is okay (I've heard) but not as effective.
I really hope it all works out for you, I've got Coccidiosis in my soil so I know the pain of it. Good luck!
haha, you the ask this. What do you mean in your soil? Is that how its caught?
and then you left...I think. Colourful explains. It is around here. I found out with my first ever lot of chicks. At about six weeks they went into a growing pen and had access to the ground during the day... I lost about half before I knew what was killing them.
then I ask.Oh that sucks. So can you not raise chicks any more? or do you just have to keep them elevated?
Then colourful says what she does. You might want to do this before you have a chance to get to the vet or talk to colourful.I do have chicks (in fact I have some hatching right now) But I keep them elevated for the first couple months while slowly introducing grass and dirt from different places around the farm. When they go into the their bigger pen, it's deep litter to keep them just a little further from the dirt plus I used to give them sulpha-quin (which was great until they stopped making it) now I just put some powder in their water when it get rainy or if I have to have them crowded for a couple weeks. So long as you keep the run clean and they don't spend too much time on soul while they're young, I find that they usually do okay.
then this.Amprolium.
I couldn't remember the spelling, but here it is. It only helps there own immune system to fight it off, not a complete vaccine.
here is the site.http://www.allfarm.com.au/index.php?page=details&prodid=78
This way's faster than me typing it all up. It's not as useful as Sulpha Quin and baycox is ridiculously expensive.
price.About $20 for 100g depending on where you get it. I order it in from my local produce store.
A small country drive, I think not. More like a 9 hr road trip.
Ah now Luke where is your sense of adventure lol
lol, maybe one day Satay.
Do you reckon they would mind express post.
lol They sure would be quiet on arrival lol
