haha, I love sneeking in and almost every time some one is squeezing one out.lol. It's so fun to watch new layers as they make the funniest faces, hell I think I would be to if I had to lay an egg!
Congrats on your Marans laying, must be lay week! Do you have a picture of them?
ouch, I heard wisdom teeth hurt a lot! I bet you looked like a muffed Araucana

WHAT! really? How many layers do you have?

OUCH!! All 4 at once?
No just the three, The locals hurt the most, I think I am doing pretty good on the pain side luckily but they say day three is the worst so I might eat my words then....

I got 8 eggs today! 2 from one pen and 6 from the another.... Finally they are getting their butts into gear!!! I will have plenty to chose from for my next round in the incubator if they keep this up!

GREAT NEWS!!! looks like it's lay week here!!!
Great eggs!
Your top left eggs, why are they scratched? one of my Marans had an egg similar to this!
She must have scratched her feet over it right after she laid or may be another girl came in to lay straight after her and scratched it as she was adjusting herself. It is because Marans hens deposit their pigment over the egg which is secreted from mucous ducts in the last 10cm of the oviduct... so if it is scratched before the pigment has dried after it is laid it will leave lines exposing the shell colour underneath. You can actually scrub the pigment off. I have picked them up right after they have been laid and left fingerprints on the shell! Pretty cool really!
