They might be fertile. You have to check if the boys are "working". You can also tell by flipping the quail and looking at the vent, if there is a bulge under the tail but before the vent (gently squeezed it'll produce a white foam) then they are male and ready to mate. In Winter, some males look just like females because they're not mating so they don't need to produce the foam. But if you're checking make sure you squeeze REALLY gently. If it's a boy ready to mate, it'll be super obvious.Satay, Red and other quail owners.
I have some hens laying eggs right now (). Will the eggs be fertile? I know we must have at least 1-2 roosters out of 5 quail, will they be doing their job or do they mate seasonally?![]()

I am getting more chicks in August do you think they will be alright at 8 weeks to intergrate with my small flock
