Sorry for posting while I was freaked out guys :-\ things are looking a little better. I've separated him and put him on hay instead of shavings, and Vegemite in the water. The bubbles are gone and I haven't heard any sneezes since being home. No idea what's going on. Maybe shavings just aren't good for him.

Hope that's what it is pinky. Shavings made mine sneeze too. They still do now and then but not like when they were on shavings. Never noticed discharge though.

My Black Copper Marans used to lay a purple tinged egg. I'll see if I can find a photo... They were created using French Wheaten Marans and Croad Langshan... I sold them in my break up but am hoping to get some eggs off the guy I sold them to this year. .. I only have a few Black Coppers from that line left here but that is why I originally got into Croad Langshans was for the purple eggs but I think the most we get here in Aus is a purple bloom. I was looking forward to seeing the imported croads eggs too.

I was working on a new website with the penes on it and haven't been able to bring myself to finish it now... my sister is coming over with her good camera sometime soon to take photos of my chookies though so that should inspire me to get it done!

A friend of mine in the US had a fertile purple egg hatch. Not sure what it was though, but it looked great in with Marans, Amercaucana and BR eggs.

It gives them a boost in vitamin b and niacin Luke. I use multi vitamins for babies without iron.
