My Welsummers are 7 1/2 months old and only JUST getting their combs and wattles now.

Yes Appps - The original freezerbator used the guts of an old Bellsouth incubator.
It couldnt hold the temperature. This uses the heat element from the Bellsouth plus a 15 watt light bulb -
holds temperature very accurately now. We will see how well on 23/8.

I got a new cheapy 48 egg auto turn incubator, seems to be holding temp and humidity really well touch wood. I've still got to find my independent hygrometer/thermometer to make sure it actually IS accurate. Got heaps of eggs for a test run though! Sadly I lost the last frizzle that hatched, it was soooo cute but it's legs were not too good. I had them braced and it still kept walking backwards. It ended up some how upside down in the small lip of the water container I might see if the breeder has any chicks available..

Chook, I use one of those incubators. it goes well. Holds accurate temp, the humidity is a bit off, but not enough to worry about. I have had really good hatch rates (except for the Marans from Jason). Had two loose wires when I got it, but luckily a friend soldered them, so now it goes well. Doesn't hold a high humidity well, but because I live in a humid area, I just add a sponge.

Sorry about the frizzle, some just aren't meant to make it.

The one and only pullet I have left from the shipped Marans eggs from SA is looking a bit odd.
