Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

You can have 20 nest boxes Appps, and they will still all want to lay in the one box!

That's what I thought until yesterday with 5 in and another 3 staring at them all from the outside, I'll go take a photo appps...

Great work on the new eggs! O.K, thanks all:D ! Is all of the chick feed medicated or will I have to ask for it at my store? Here is the set up everyone and the first hatch will be underway in about 1 hr ( just letting the bator settle out ). I will be hatching 13 quail eggs. ( to test fertility and the bator ).
quails I do 40% humidity for day 1 to 14 and then 60% til hatch. Quails I feed unmediated laucke mills gamebird starter from day 1 but you can also use turkey starter which is medicated as long as you don't plan on eating them.

The front where they go in, you can lift up the top to check if eggs are just sitting at the back and haven't rolled down. The floor inside is on an angle and the whole thing is on a block of wood at the front to lift it up a bit extra because thy weren't rolling to the back easily enough. But when the next one gets in they usually knock those ones anyway.

The collection part is on the outside of the coop so that the kids can collect the eggs without being attacked by roosters or let them out... There is only a small gap where the eggs roll though so the chickens can not get out through there.

I had to add this one of the girls relaxing in the sun yesterday

Chook- I like your new egg plan! Your girls certainly seem to be enjoying themselves in the sun. Mine were having a lovely time dust-bathing this morning!
