Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Luke i think i have found the answer to getting your runners to lay.... Threaten to sell them lol. Just went down to their pen and found 2 eggs in there. :woot

Once when one of my hens died, my dad said "Oh well, now let's give this custard apple tree a boost".  Then he buried my poor little hen underneath.  I was furious!

Mine go in the compost bins if they pass from old age or being attacked something like that. I do have a few of my favourites like bindi in my avatar that have special spots that they are buried.

Where mine get buried all depends on how special they were to me. Our whole garden bed is occupied by deceased poultry and other pets - it's basically a graveyard.

I had a favourite rabbit who died over a year ago but I still chase the hens away when they scratch dirt all over her gravesite...

They weren't to fussed with me trying to photograph them while they were eating so this is the best i could get. Thought i would be clever after this shot and wait til they went out to free range to take a picture. Bad idea do you know how fast those ducks can move when they see you pointing a camera at them lol.

Your ducks are great Satay.
Is the one at the back a Penciled Runner? They are my favorite.
My Runner doesn't seem to be much of and athlete when it comes to running.lol. She rather takes to the air.

I thought about perhaps putting some eggs under them, but my husband isn't keen on the idea haha. Probably because he think I would keep them all.
do you want some marans? they're very cute..

We had a little girl spotty die earlier this year when I let a friend do a video clip in one of my chicken coops. I had her on the other side of the yard but she just looked really down, so I put her inside where she had spent lots of time on my daughter's lap and gave her some antibiotics but when I came back inside she had died. We buried her under the Apple tree. Otherwise most of the birds that die here have reached the time when they are to be eaten or if they have died for unknown reasons are incinerated.

Congrats on your beautiful babies rexy and good luck with your hatch Luke. Any pipping yet?

What's the latest news on the hatch Luke?

It's not good guys, Hatch day was supposed to be today and early.
Still yet to even have some pipping let alone a full hatch

I am more disappointed that I will have to tell my customers that they will not be getting a single quail.
