Velvet my golden pheasant has started laying!

I have never seen a pheasant egg before Are they hard to hatch?

My house was built by convicts so I never feel far from my ancestors.

The British soldiers would walk them all the way from Hobart and then put them in holding cells here in my garden, then they were put on sailing ships and taken further south to the " brickworks " at southport. My garden is such a peaceful place now, no trace of the past horrors, just a few relics laying around.

Yes it is. There was a movie shot in our house in 1978-79 called " the tasmanian nightingale ". Based on the life of opera singer Amy Sherwin. The strange thing is that my daughter is now a soprano . She has had no formal training , it just kind of happened.
I do find lots of strange things happen around here.

Ours look like that in March, but for now, mowing the grass is a full time occupation .
