Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

IMO, and it is just the way I work. Don't change their groups as they do get used to one group. Also, why are they too young to free range at 2 months?
Hi Rexy, they would only just be 2 months, and as bantam very small. If they would stay with the group it may be ok but they are only tolerated by the adults & shooed off if encroach too closely. One rooster leads each group and is very much a warner & protecter which they would not have the benefit of. The main free range danger during the day are the goannas but the pythons are lurking if they go too far into the forest plus the occassional goshawk. As they still make the little chick peeping, this tends to attract predators, especialy goannas. If they had a mum, I would not hesitate as they would have her protection and the roosters.

For some reason we can't get the rest of the hay pics up. Here's our Jess having a ride on the hay trailer.
1000

Very unusual to get a pic of her without a horse under her.

Lovely pic fancy :)

Good luck with your hatch Chook. I think I may have fried my poor eggs in the bator yesterday. I could not keep the temp down even with the fan going full bore and removing the lid a lot. It hit 39.5c a few times. Well I guess we will see come Sunday.

Hope not mate. I had my eggs from last hatch hit 40 twice. 9/11 hatched so fingers crossed

Yeah satay I'm not holding much hope for mine either because of the temp they must have reached before i set them during our little heat wave. Our house is an old miners cottage/pretty much a shed on stumps with no insulation but may as well give them a go.

The last of Newts eggs hatched this morning so that is 8 chicks in total :)

Luke I mainly have olive Eggers in there. A few cross breeds for selling and a few other projects in there too. The other bator is set with Marans that have had a different roo over them than the previous hatches this season.

That is a lovely photo fancy. I have one my sister took of me when I was a teenager that reminds me of that photo. I always say the best time to take a photo of someone is when they don't know you are taking the photo :)

Oh I see you have D'uccles. Got any pics. I have my first two which are a few months old now. They are such cute little things.
Pfft, I have four that are a month and a bit old but I do plan on expanding that. Only problem is it's hard to find trustworthy breeders out there that are close enough to drive to.

So Sorry. Did you tell her you were not happy with them? Unfortunately there seems to be some really dodgy sellers out there at the moment. There is a facebook group called https://www.facebook.com/groups/1398358417071759/
to warn others.
I have over Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Boutique-Bantams/167828696573726) but nobody answered. Thanks for the page, I requested to join and will see what happens after :)

Congrats on the new babies Chook. I'll keep my fingers crossed that both or hatches have made it through all this heat.

Esk is semi-close, I suppose. I used to live in Forest Hill, QLD (10 mins from Gatton) so my mum and I travel up there sometimes to see friends. What's her name?
