Outside temps were still 30c at 1am  Think it is something with me and lockdown everytime eggs go to lockdown lately our temps go crazy. Today is meant to be hotter than yesterday .

Well my best advice would be to bring a jacket, a hat and an umbrella. Here in tas it's jacket on , jacket off, jacket on...............
If she's down in the Huon valley tell her to drop in for a cuppa. :)

LOl I will. I have no idea where she is going really she did show me her list of what she is doing the other day but I can't remember it all now. Her and a friend have a hire car. I remember her saying a couple of cruises somewhere and Mt something and Port Arthur lol. I told her the other day that you said bring everything type of clothing from your wardrobe lol. She'd do that anyways. My mum's in her early 60's and has just got the travel bug the last 5 years or so.. she has been to N.Z and Sydney and now Tassie.

She'll love it. Port Arthur is a truly beautiful place, I think we have been there at least a dozen times with visitors. The grounds and gardens are magnificent . The salmon ponds out past new Norfolk are a great day out too.

I agree with Fancy. Get it under a heat lamp.

Thank you I have had it under the lamp now since yesterday and its still alive, but no better. What if I tried pollard (quiet runny) just trying to think what I can feed the poor little thing, maybe soak chic crumble?

I guess I wouldn't be trying so hard if I had more chicks hatch out of the eggs I purchased but I only have this one and another one. I really love the speckled Sussex and this is why I'm trying so hard for this one to pull through......... But at the same time I need to be humane and fair, the part I struggle with!!

You tried scrambled egg? I only cook it till it's just setting then turn it off. There is a product called poly- aid plus that you can you can purchase at the pet shop it contains electrolytes and pro biotics. It is very similar to a product in the states called ' chick saver '. It may also help your chick past this difficult time and give it an appetite.

Hey guys! It's been a crazy weekend here! Yesterday I cleaned the chicks and the chooks coops in the rain and decided the chicks need a new coop so I got one on ebay that i'll modify myself.

Also yesterday I went and bought my lonely lil chick 2 little friends, it didn't go down too well

she is a day old and these 2 are 10 days, my little day old has not stopped pecking at the new ones eyes! It's horrible! One of the new ones now continually shakes it's head

I don't think she's doing it to attack her I think it's more because its a little black dot and she's not sure what it is.

One of the new ones has defended itself so she doesn't go for that one much but the other one she's constantly pecking it! What can i do to stop her? Or will there come a time that the new one will defend itself so she learns?

Best you can do Sid , is hope that they will get used to each other. If it gets out of hand separate them and try just reintroducing at night.
Update on the weather satay, I hope your mum remembered to pack her gumboots. It's raining cats and dogs.

Agree with fancy. I always try to get chicks as close to the same age as I can when adding extras... I am sure they will get used to each other in a few days.
