Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hey all im Angelica im a first time duck owner from Sydney. Ihave two Pekin Ducks, Stanley and Stella. We believe they were abonded as we found them out the front out front of ur house near parramatta river so we deiced to welcome two cute ducklings into our family. Im still getting to know the ropes of duck caring i really need to spruce up their pen a bit though ( they dont tend to use it haha they just have free roam of our backyard.) Our other pets (two cats and two dogs) get a long just fine however i have noticed stanley try to dominate they dogs as they`re both girls. Anyways enough ramblings i shall leave you with a picture. Stanley is to the front and Stella is towards the back

Welcome :)

Also just out of curiosity has anyone ever dealt with a snappy male? My male pekin is going mad chasing me, snapping at my fingers, legs, toes and whatever else he can nip at. Occasionally he will feed from my hand but it doesn't last long before bites me. I have one female and she just laid her first egg. Every one is saying ducks get like rhis around spring but it's not spring!!! Haha maybe someone from the southern hemisphere could help

The way I tell Lucas, is Stanley has the tell tale ' hook ' feather in his tail.

I used google which said males have a tail that flicks up and females are straight but honestly I thought both their tales flicked up and were boys. Until I found an egg -_- haha embarrassing to say I thought Stanley humping Spencer (now stella) was him being dominate over another boy. Oooops!!
