Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I know this is not chicken related.... So sorry if not allowed... But does anyone have Call Ducks? Can you keep just girls without having a boy? I read somewhere that if you just have girls only they can be a bit noisy but if you have a boy it quietens them down... Does anyone know? And then... Are there any breeders in SE QLD area please where I could some? Thanks

I have never had call ducks but I am sure you could go on Facebook look up chickens for sale Brisbane and ask on there. Someone should be able to help you .

Hi great brooder box.

You have just given me an idea.
I have used a guinea pig hutch for a brooder in the past. I had a desk lamp in the covered area but the lamp got broken.
I am going to reuse it for the future hatches too.
Can you please tell me what type of heat lamp to put in and how to do it so it is safe.
Thank you in advance.

Oh by the way so sorry to hear about your little chook. Glad the other one is doing better.
I have been told Yokult is good for them but so is Berocca.
I had a chook feeling poorly ( I know yours is a lot different and worse )so I gave her some Berocca and it helped her with the TLC regime.

Hi Duckie - I use broody hens for hatching eggs, not an incubator because I'm lazy and don't want to deal with heat lamps, humidity and all that jazz.

I've had 2 successful broody raised hatches with no issue. Am possibly going to start my third next week.

Hopefully someone else here can help you.
