Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I know, I know lol. Luckily I've got to go out this afternoon so that will get me through till tomorrow anyway :)

Any action at your place?

Nothing apart from 2 false alarms from my daughter. I've been tiptoeing around Snowy because she's not a naturally broody breed & I don't want to do anything that puts her off finishing the job. On Thursday I cleared the debrit out of her section of the run & replaced it with sand so that the chicks have a few days before coming into contact with any established germs. Snowy hasn't been off the nest since.

Not even for a drink of water! It's easy too tell because there are no footprints in the sand. I've been hoping she wasn't going to get off the nest anyway & that it wasn't me changing things.
So this morning my daughter has twice told me that she has heard cheeping. The second time she went out with me, lifted the top off the dog box, ripped an egg out from under Snowy & said "I heard this egg cheeping." I think my jaw hit the sand! After all I've done trying not to disturb Snowy, my darling daughter has been taking the eggs out to listen for cheeping.

Now we are just waiting.... I'm not doing anything until I see a walking fluff ball out on the sand. There is food & water & nothing else I can think of doing to help, apart from locking the top bolt that my daughter can't reach.

Lolz cwrite, I know it isn’t funny but I can just imagine your face!!

cwrite & appps I know I probably have no chance of being as excited as you both but it sure is wearing off on me and I am waiting to hear the good news!

The beans had their first meal worms today .. didn't touch the sides!! lol

No chicks for us today. I'm not sure about the chirping either. I couldn't say for sure that it wasn't coming from the masses that were chirping their little heads off around our garden today. Usually I like that - today, not so much. I just did my last check for the day & it was quiet apart from the growling.
