Lesson in life - Never OVER-estimate the 'listening skills' of teenagers

Actually I think it might be never assume teenagers have listening skills ;-)

Fancychooklady ... I hope your mare is ok - not pre-mature with her early bagging. And it's great that you have such a wonderful equine Vet who you trust so much and depend upon. Might she be a little further along than you thought ? ... Your Vet will know it all for sure - and the scans will tell the story.

Good luck to you and your beautiful mare.

Cheers .......

Rain rain go away go find a farm that actually needs it!!!
I know I shouldn't complain but I just started pulling things out of my shed so it can be checked for termites, now everything I couldn't get back in on time is soaked and or ruined. I had to move the chicks back into the little coop as it's so wet. Oh and cho is going broody again!!
My friends partner came by today and reroofed the coop and closed in the other wall to try stop the water pooling like it has been, will see how it went in the morning I guess.

Hope all the other qlders have faired ok in the storms, thankfully dalby is a bit of a dead spot we usually only get the edge as it goes around us

Always love reading everyone posts' here - such great information and helpful advice. Fun stories, and of course some very sad tales as well.

Having gone back over many pages this evening, and coming across Teilas' fun posts again, along with so much more - I had an urge to write a limerick type poem. I do write poetry and have had it internet published ( more serious stuff ) but so enjoy a bit of fun limerick writing as well. .... Could absolutely NOT resist writing the following :

,,,,,,,,,,

For Teila ... and her avian varieties !!!
wink.png

There is a young lady named Teila
who has a conundrum or two
Her favourite chook,
doesn't go by the book ...
and gets herself into a stew.

Cilla shrieks, and she cackles with bite
Being broody she thinks it's her right,
Never mind all the others
They are nothing but bothers
She displays her annoyance with fight.

But Teila has now got her measure
and dear Cilla is more of a pleasure
For how long is not known ?
As she's sure fully blown
in protecting her wee eggy treasures.

And then oh my goodness, the crows
Decidedly could come to blows
as they caw and they yell
To Teila it's hell
In the mornings, as everyone knows.

One day they will leave your address,
Making other lives a crowing mess
with incessant noise,
"Are most of them boys ?"
That would be anyones' guess. !!
wink.png

Until then there'll be mutters galore,
From Teila - armed at the door
Awaiting the visits
from black butt complicits
Saying " hey there you - NO bluddy MORE".

With GodCilla and the black crows
Perhaps almost anything goes
But I think I would bet,
that theres' no need to fret
There is always an end to these woes.

The lady will win and will mend,
With the flock and sweet "Cilla" she tends,
As for the crows
Who the heck knows
But I think they will leave - in the end.

( Good luck Teila ).

Anni that is brilliant. You sure have a talent. Teila is going to love it .:clap

So today I found out that you are never too old to learn. Got my , obviously otherwise occupied, teenage daughter to select a dozen DWArF English box out for me at the nursery. Planted them all yesterday , then found out today they aren't DWARF.
Note to self, do not be lulled into a false sense of security , even after spelling it out for a teenager and saying ' do you think you can do that ? ' . Double check everything.
Jobs for tomorrow, 1: dig up newly planted hedge.
1000

Oh no.. Teenagers and husbands I find only listen when it suits them.. At least she got English box, got it 50% right :lau Son's in brissy today on a job interview I need him to grab me a few things so I sent him a text last night, I must admit he's pretty good at remembering things even without a text.

No chance of that Annie, we did AI. The mare has not been within a country mile of a stallion. :)

I like your ' glass half full ' theory. :) Thankfully this is the last of 3 preoccupied teenagers for me. Seriously , she's a good kid, just not remotely interested in anything other than horses. My mistake, thought she was listening.
