Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Haven't been on much in ages but wanted to share that our young purebred lavendar Aracuana died yesterday.

In happier news our Dorking from the same hatch was trying out how to crow for the first time today. Already sounds more like a rooster than Dorian who has been crowing for nearly 3 months

Good morning Friends :frow Anniebee oh yeah, didn’t think of the having to ‘part with the puppy’ bit .. that would be hard. I only have 44 friends on FB, after some culling and to be honest, my FB friends pretty much just get the same news you guys do, just not as much ;) I am using a Windows 7 Professional PC and have seen the spamming in the New Posts thread. The mods are pretty good at getting rid of it fairly quickly and it also helps when the members ‘report’ it. Sjturner79 I am sorry to read of you loss :( LanaDucky that does sound promising. As promised, pumpkin pics .. I think he did a great job! The pumpkin guts got thrown to the gals while they were in the garden. As expected we got the "You really expect us to eat that?!" look and at the end of the day the guts got fed to the compost bin ;)
Well done. That looks great. :celebrate

One Husband decided to over rule me and we have one no show shearer from last weekend supposedly coming today at 11. I wanted to get someone else and he wanted to give him another chance :he Let's hope he turns up this time. :fl

Well she kept them warm all night but when i went down there this morning she had left them all in the nest. When i tried to put them with her and her chick she tried to peck at them. So back up to the brooder they came. my daughter will be happy at least. She cant hold the parent raised ones as much.

Yes my daughter was thrilled when ours wouldn't take them either but strangely that thrill turned to indifference when the cleaning starts lol

Well my little munchkins are up with the big girls today, they are in the broody pen having a lovely time in the dirt and so far no repeat of the screaming clucking match from the big girls that greeted them when I put them up there earlier in the week.

So we have rain forecast and top temps of 20 to 25 forecast for all next week. At four weeks they should be fine outside in that with no heat shouldn't they? (The temps not the rain). It's totally covered so unless we get rain water flooding the ground stays dry where they are. Just thinking it won't be sitting on the max temp all day long.

Good morning Friends :frow Mental note to self: Stay away from the Home Page ;) Anniebee another comment on FB for you “Love the poem “. RodneyRooster Nooo! 10 days has to be the minimum She can’t go broody yet anyways, still trying to break KiKi. I reckon they have it worked out between them .. no fun in all being broody at the same time “lets take it in turns and make it a summer to remember” ;) Congrats on surviving Tax Season! Lol at your current rate of flock growth ChristieB Well, we have a busy day today … there is a pumpkin to be carved and a new BBQ to be purchased! We BBQ at least 3-4 times a week and our BBQ that we got second hand has seen better days, the burners are rusting etc and getting the cooking time just right is getting tricky. My 27 year old son still lives at home because he spent many years studying and training. He started working 12 months or so ago and is now saving to buy his own place which I encouraged him to do as I did not want him to make the same mistake I did .. throw away money on rent and never have the opportunity to buy. Anyways, making good money and living at home, he is now saving heaps. He does pay some board but not a great deal as I really want him to have a good starting point and while not rolling in money, we get by OK. Anyways, last night he says “I popped the board into your account plus some extra .. go and buy yourselves a new BBQ!” Wow .. stoked!
Oooh thats good if they have it sorted out to take turns! Ok we'll see lol. WOW thats a lot of bbqing! U totally deserved the new one! What a sweetie :) well done on obviously raising him the best u possibly could.

Condolences.. Haha yes I had the same thing here, there is a very distinct difference in my boys' crows, one is beautiful and perfect one is throaty and almost croaky lol

Still dont add people just cos i knew them at school a long tine ago tho i hate that stuff. Theyre called 'friends' not 'ive met u once so want to increase my numbers's'. Omg it looks fantastic!! Howd he do the green eyes? Obviously had the final look well thought out as the 2nd picture looks so different light up. Tell him well done!
Oops just realised my comments going inside the post.. lol

Pity. Yep! I would be the same as would my kids lol but its so true the thing that (someone!) Commented that that excitements gone when cleaning it.. lol. At least u noticed and could bring them back before any damage was done.
Just a mear 120km or so .:D
Lol … I have this mental image of a tired little frizzle pullet on our front lawn complete with tiny, overnight travel pack containing water, feed and a ‘please give me a home’ note :lau
:lau !! Yep dunno how shes gonna walk 120kms with all the survival gear but its certainly an awesome visual :)

:-/ well I think that one husband was a little silly but give it a chance and let us know how it goes. Im assuming they had a bloody good excuse for him to use them again.. Sorry for the long post. i had to get a new phone as my old one had had it and wasnt working properly. Certainly stranger trying to reply to all this lol. When i first jumped on and was reading the posts there was no ovation or quote buttons so i was like whaaaa?!?! My system changing cant do this its the website. When i finally read all the posts and couldnt find any way in which to post back i scrolled to the top again and realised that i wasnt automatically signed in on this phone! Haha
