To appps, teila and satay ( and other posters I may not have seen on my BYC meanderings ) ... re weather ??
Last night I went to bed ( which translates to sitting in my recliner chair, trying to watch TV - - - for 3.5 minutes before I fall asleep !! ) .... I had a hot water bottle, a woollen cardigan AND a winter coat on ... reclining in comfort and to a degree, some warmth. ..... It was freezing here, ( the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria ), in the early hours. Middle of winter stuff.
So yes - the weather is all over the place. Makes one wonder what this summer will bring. I do hope those awful heat temps abate for you all up there in the north .... and that you can go about your daily routines without perspiring lbs of weight off !! I can tolerate humidity and wet, but not the dry northerly winds we get at times down south here. They are treacherous.
..........
To Fancychooklady .... the sardines sound like a great idea, to cover any nasty tastes from worm mixtures. Will do that. I DO believe it is the taste that puts them off. Will not now, according to your advice - administer worming mixture diluted way down. I absolutely see your point on that.
Will try the bread and rice +++++ stuff I mix up for them ( spoilt brats they are ) .... and pour the made up worming mixture into that, next time around - which will be in about 8 weeks..
Meantime, enjoy your snow .... coming up to Christmas that is quite extraordinary, and I kind of hope it snows for you on Christmas Day. Have been in the northern hemisphere ( U.S. ) during Christmas, and it is a whole other ball game ... something I will always remember and cherish - - a deep snow Christmas, cold as all get out.
About 7 years back, I woke up on Christmas morning to white .... everywhere. A very heavy fall of hail had happened at dawn - and it was beautiful ( but dangerously slippery ). Brought backall the memories of my time in the U.S. .... and that was in the Dandenongs ( Upwey ).
It was a rare occurrence.
Cheers .......
