Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

My little one's legs seem to be fine the more he's walking so maybe I'll be ok. I am keeping a close eye on it. Haha hence the no work getting done. I keep looking at the incubator. I've put a dining chair next to it. I have put the second incubator on again when the other one hatches and is up and around a bit I will put it in there for a bit. Then I think I'll candle the others. It will be 30 full days at the end of the day and no signs of the others pipping. The other 2 should be fine to put this one in with won't they. No experience with ducks. These to seem to pick at each other all the time. I did what you said about the water and they love it. They are drinking all the time now.

How close is the new one to hatching?

Lol i have a dining chair in next to the incubator too. I have the brooder in my daughters bedroom because she is away for school holidays. I slept in her bed the last two nights

My husband thinks I've gone mad :lau

Great they are drinking lots so are mine and the tiny guy is eating and has finally pooped!

I'm not able to have the little fella with the first born because he beats on him. I think for two reasons, he's weaker and not quite right and also it was a full 24 hrs he was on his own so he wasn't keen on the introduction of another. When the new one comes watch them real close, as he is finding his feet the other two could well beat him up.

Probably I will not be able to resist helping. My husband thinks I've gone mad. He's taken to bringing my coffee to me there. I wondered about that too. Mine will be about 30 hours difference. If not more because they are very wobbly when they first dry, I kept mine in the incubator till they could at least get around a bit. The first day they just mostly slept anyway. I don't know. The more I do the less I realise I know. Very frustrating.
It's funny I've had the flu and with it I've lost my hearing, I went and had a hearing test yesterday and I have significant loss. Haha I could have told her that. But I can't hear the ducks and chicks cheeping at each other and cheeping for me. I'm hoping the antibiotics fixes it, I work in a classroom and they are 5years old with all their speech quirks it will be fun trying to understand them. I'm deaf in 1 ear already so they will be yelling at me. :lau
Have you had anymore pips?
If this one wasn't pipping I think I would have already candled the others. I hate waiting.:barnie

Whaaat you've had the flu during all this oh man. I had it for two weeks recently and I was so scared I would have it when they hatched, gee I'm glad I didn't!

I so hope you get your hearing back!! Mine are so loud when I leave the room. I'm planning on sleeping in my own bed tonight I hope. The may well peep their heads off all night haha

I gave my broody hen 4 eggs this afternoon I had been taking them each day but today I gave in and let her keep four. Who knows what they will be with all my mutt chickens lol

No more have pipped I hate waiting too! Oh well :/ I will candle for sure tomorrow though if there are no pips, I just hope there aren't any in the sides I can't see.

What I thought I'd do when I take this one out when it eventually unzips is give the others a little roll and see if any are pipping where I can't see. When the others hatched some got pushed into each other so I can't see all of the egg either. It shouldn't too much if I'm quick they get rolled about with the others hatching anyway. You never know this duckling might move them for me.

20171005_200427.jpg Its hatching now top half out. Its not a very good photo its right next to the edge. I will check the other before I go to bed.
Have you got any pipping yet?

Still nothing :( With my strong torch through the window I could see some greying on one of the eggs shells so I think at least one is dead. I am going to check for life tomorrow regardless. If alive I may wait one more day haven't decided.

So cool that another of yours has hatched. I wish my first one had still been alive he was so close to making it out :(

This one still has some goop attached. I was told it would be alright so I'm leaving it till morning. I'm tired. I will probably end up getting up and checking on it all night. :barnie

Wow you would think he would have absorbed everything after that long. Does his tummy look bulgy and open?
