Australians - Where are you all????

Hey all

I haven't been here in a while, my usual excuse - been very busy.
Anyway, very interesting reading about the wormers, I did my lot 3 weeks ago with Sykes Big L for poultry and have no idea if it worked, it was a put in the water type and dont really trust it, I didn't see worms in their poo before, or after but would much prefer something i could use to give directly to each bird to be sure they receive the correct dosage. Can anyone suggest a good wormer that fits my criteria and can be bought online? Would much appreciate it!
Well isn't spring lovely - I have 2 broody hens sitting on a total of 23 eggs (thank god its not my Leghorns, they are mutt hens who's mother's nick name is 'serial mother', she is broody all the time, one lot leaves the nest and she's already sitting again lol!)
Just put 34 eggs in the bator an hour ago.
Also - I'm trying to source fertile Orpington eggs and its proving to be surprisingly hard! I honestly thought they would be a little more commen than this, not really getting anywhere at all. If anyone can suggest where I may buy some, I am after about 2 dozen and shipped is fine

Hope everyone else is enjoying the slightly warmer weather, I know my hens are!!!

I know what you mean about the Orpingtons. I was searching around (just for something to do) and couldn't find harldly anything. And the ones that I did find were all pet quality, so not worth the effort.
My chickens aren't liking the temp changing so fast. It went from freezing cold to searing heat over night. So the chookies weren't handling the heat very well for those first few days.

How odd is it! Seems Orpingtons are quite accessable in the USA, and my dad said he use to breed thousands of them in the 60's, but now they are no where to be seen!
I have a friend that wanted some and I told her I could hatch her some, and I'm struggling just to find the eggs, let alone going through the whole incubation process! Maybe I've bitten off more than I can chew

she was also keen on Marans but they seem to be even rarer. Perhaps if I do manage to get a hold of some eggs of either I will keep a breeding trio and sell the fertile eggs

The weather has been rather crazy, the typical spring days of lovely sunshine and calm nights are wonderful, but for every day like that we've had 2 with gale force winds or freezing cold frosts. If mother nature could just mellow for a bit and give us some wind free 23 degree days I would be in heaven!
