I have been trying to take photos again tonight- not much luck with the gosling. It wont sit or stay put as it wants to be cuddled not photographed. The ducklings on the other hand were behaving- here is one of the favorites.

Well Ducky i have some news for you. I found my mumma runner had stashed a nest of eggs under a bush in the yard. I actually saw her on them this time lol. So i gave them to my muscovey to sit on. I had pretty much given up on them hatching as i could not remember when I gave them to her but when I went down to lock them in the pen before. I can report I got to witness my first runner hatch. It is a lovely black colour with the fawn colour of the female on the wing tips. I didn't get any pictures as it is almost dark here because of overcast weather. I was soooo excited to see it hatch and it to be a duck after my last debarkle lol. I will try to get pics tomorrow if I get home early enough. Have to take teenage son to specialist an hour away tomorrow after he broke his arm in 2 places on easter monday.

YAY!! Congratulations to you. Cant wait to see pics. Are you going to let her raise them all?? Or do you want to try raising some yourself as well. Runners are such gorgeous babies- I have a very cuddly one at the moment that especially loves cuddles so instead f reading in bed at night - I sit next to the brooder with the duckling on my lap until I get sleepy.


I have spent the evening with my ducks tonight. My phine line is dropped out so I have called optus and they are sending out a technician tomorrow. Hoefully they will be better than telstra - My laptop has wireless but I have never gotten used to using it. Everyone got a bath and extra cuddle time and I am even off to bed early in the hope that I might get up extr early as well.
