Australorps breed Thread

Congrats Dan! Kurts right..you can start to tell around 4 weeks or so..it takes me much longer with the blk oprs because they have a low comb..
Thanks for your input too Lynne! I have Hipps & Tigercreek eggs in the bator now. I don't have much confidence in the Hipps eggs but I am going through the motions. I also am supposed to get more Tigercreek eggs next week.

If things go as planned I will soon be Chicken poor!

Dan

You typed Hipps, but Aveca read Hupps. It is Hipps isn't it?? I believe that she got some from Hupp that is what she was holding ? .........stan

Hello everyone, I am a blue Australorp breeder from Western Australia (breed on a very small scale).
I have been lurking this thread for 3 years but now with your recent interest in Blue Australorps I thought I better join.
Just so you know CB and CG stands for chookboyandchookgirl as that is our username on some Australian forum sites.
This is my first time posting a pic so bear with me. I know there are some other Aussies on this thread but I thought you guys needed some Blue in your life lol.
Blue Australorp pullet

If you want me to post some more just let me know.

Here is another pic of the same pullet.

Here is a pic of a Blue Australorp cockerel and then the same cockerel fully grown as a rooster. I also have Black Australorps if you wanted pics of them to but I have a feeling everyone is a little more interested in blue right now.

Not a great photo but better than nothing. Tell me what you think?

Yes Stan! You are correct! I won't be getting Hupps eggs until later. I really have high hopes for all the chicks I have as well as the eggs I have in the bator and/or lined up. It should get me a solid start of some quality birds.

I should be getting more eggs from your original trio about next Thursday.

Also want to add the reason I don't have that much confidence in the Hipps eggs has nothing to do with the breeder, but the box took some jolting around, 5 eggs were broke or cracked on arrival.
