Australorps breed Thread

Really? Maybe it's just my town, but it seems that most dog/cat vets around here will refuse to see chickens at all. :(

Do not tell them it is chicken poo!

They don't see the chicken and the fecal float is the same for all of them.

I took a sample to our States health and food safety lab at the University of CA at Davis. It cost me $10.00.

Hi everyone, thought I would share a pic of one of my blue Australorp hens. She is not in any way perfect or close to it but she does have her good points. I really like her comb for a start and I also like her colour but I would be interested in everyone elses oppinions. The pics are not the best but they are better than nothing lol.

I plan on checking just to see what and who are around me to see if they have anything out of the normal for my little town. i would like to have a rare breed that others dont have right now i have a pair of Columbian Plymouth Rock (large fowl) i've only seen bantams til this year and i lucked up on them. i want some common stuff too though. dont plan on showing just eggs and meat and sells.
So do you show your birds?
I do not plan on showing.

That's it. I NEED a Blue Aussie.
I got my chickies from a local breeder, and they did look a little skinny when I first got them, but other than that, they were healthy. However, I do not recommend this breeder because one of my two is actually a Black sexlink, and the other has a very strange leg color, like a mix of gray and yellow. I really should get some pics up soon.

Thank your for the picture!

I hope mine get looking somewhat like that...

She is very pretty indeed! I agree her comb is great. Bear in mind that I'm no expert. She certainly has a pretty & clean face and overall good shape. My only criticism would be she may have a bit too much fluff under her dragging her almost perfect shape down a bit. Maybe it is just the pic? But oh my gosh... she is a beauty! All of us in the USA would really LOVE to have a bird of her quality. Outstanding! Eye candy for sure! Thanks so much for sharing your pics. Fun to see a real beauty like her. ~Dee~
