Good'ay, mate,groche
Can you post feet pictures? I want to see what color feet/shanks also how the toes should look like so I get and idea on witch rooster to keep.
Hello all!
I do not have any chickies yet, but this fall/winter my husband and I are building our coop!!! To pass the time I have been drafting what the inside of my coop will look like, but cannot for the life of me remember how much perch space I should have per bird. I'm planning on getting Australorps and a grey Langshan, because I fell in love with my friend's low man on the totem pole grey Langshan ... (I know I could get one with a different temperament .... Dinner table for naughty birds! =P)
The birds will have 1/2 an acre to roam. Have been working with my dogs, with my friend's flock. So far so good!
I cannot wait to join the chicky world!
I got 3 BA roosters that are 3.5 months all 3 are big, but the one who's the biggest one with the wider body, he has a black/blueish shanks/toes and his outer toes slant out a tiny bit he's got nice comb/body. The other 2 have black feet/shank and straight toes but I am not feeling there combs atm, all 3 have white under there feet. I know there still young but then again I am new to BA's so idk what o look for..Good'ay, mate,
I could, but it's been wet here for a change and I'd need to wash their feet. Bit of a hassle. To keep it simple, a BA should have black, or dark slate in older birds, shanks and feet. The toenails and underside of feet and toes should be white. Don't stress about a little black flecking on the sole. Most important is, that if its legs are any other color, it aint a BA!
Hope this helps Geoff

18 inches high seems pretty low to me ...
by the waddles and the comb I'd thought those were roosters. ????? Man these are hard to figure out what's a he and what's a she!
