I have 22 eggs in the Brinsea, and it doesn't look too promising. 14 of the eggs took 8 days to arrive during some pretty cold weather. Regardless I am not discouraged!

If it doesn't work this time I will be trying again! and Soon! I am determined that there will be some quality BA's roaming my little farm this year.

That is the additude..and excactly the additude I have..I just get more and more determined to work at a goal..its just a bump in the road..dust off and get back at it..its still early in the year and the weather also put a lot of birds off..so glad your keeping the chin up!

When the eggs get that cold it causes condensation between the membrane and shell..thats a huge problem..Somone told me a while ago to ship medishippers and as live animal..then they dont ride at 32 thousand ft plane ride unheated , unpressurised cargo..Havnt tried that..but its the way they ship rare endangered parrot , hawk eggs from around the world..if they are really on endangered list somone carrys them in person to destination with permits..thought that was interesting..the eggs Chet sent set out overnight on the woodpile (we think) ..sub zero temps but arrived quickly..I thought it might not go this well but was worth the try..the fact they didnt sit in distibution helped ..

Marking them as Live Animals sounds like a Great Idea!

Stan, No breeders here. I have searched high & low for Quality BA's in the form of eggs, chicks, & or a breeding trio, but not much luck. I did get a couple of batches of eggs shipped in here and while I think my luck was not very good, who knows I still may end up with a couple of chicks and that is a start.

I was offered a Great deal on a Super Nice Breeding Trio, but no shipping available and since it is a 1600 mile round trip to get them that would make a great deal a huge investment.

As soon as the Brinsea has run it's course this time I will be looking for more Eggs from some Quality BA's! Stan you need to get those pullets grown up and laying fertile eggs!

Hello Everyone! Stopping by to look at the chicks.

Wish I could post pics of mine that I was suppose to receive Friday but the store cancelled the BA order.

I was told the next order of BA's is due in April 26th. We paid for ours to "guarantee" (if that is possible?) we get them. We have had everything ready for a couple of months so the waiting is agony.

Kurt & Aveca ... those are gorgeous chicks. Happy for you both! Enjoyed the pics of the incubator in action Aveca. I have never done a hatching or witnessed it except here on BYC. Fascinating!

Kurt, the Tigercreek 4 are amazing! You must be so pleased.

Well, honestly I am envious of all of you here with BA's and am so glad many of you frequently post pics as it helps during my waiting.

I had more comments but am having a senior moment. lol

Yep, you are right I screwed up the date. 3-28-13 is correct.

I am not sure about the darker one. He is lighter than my blacks so I am hoping they are blue and splash only.What did you get from Chet and what actually hatched? I started with 8, one no action and the other one no pip after 2 days. I am so pleased with 6 out of 8 for shipped eggs and the bonus is the splash and blues.

You did a good job there DAD! a couple of them have your eyes! all kidding aside, I was glad to see that some had hatched out splash as that was the Idea with your eggs, I was disappointed to hear that Aveca's eggs sat out overnight in the temps like that.....................what the hell is wrong with the Postal service anymore, it seems that they don't give a crap or are just plain idiots. I thought my post office had competent folks until I asked them to run down eggs I sent and they couldn't tell me? Anyway hope everyone else's eggs hatch out like meanv2 which were held up for 8 days...............why even pay for "PRIORITY MAIL" if the postal service cant do their jobs right? I'm getting sour here so I'm going to cool off and think about the future of a new Australorp community! the best to you all and happy hatches!

I'm right here Stan! I've been logging in once or twice a week but never seem to catch you on here. Usually I check in without logging on either very early in the morn or very late at night. I read a few posts and head out. How're things with you?
