Hello! I have a flock of Black & Blue English Orpingtons and a couple Aussie hens. My Blue Orp roo had a chick with a BA hen, so I got a Black English Australorpington pullet. =) The English Orpington genetics handed down a lot of the type, but The pullet, "Inky", is still black with big eyes... works pretty well! I can't wait to see how she lays. She a pretty large pullet as she is now, so I'll bet she matures a lot closer to this type:

Yep, work full time 5 days a week 8 hrs a day and when I get off work don't much feel like doing anything except the chicken and dog chores before it gets dark and kickin back with the wife. Ive only been on lately because Im on vacation till Monday so just was seein who and what was happening with the Australorp bunch!
LOL! Yes, I have a coop, and pen. When they leave the brooder, I like to enjoy them in the big cage on the porch for a little while. Yes, they will be going to the coop this weekend. The porch will be scrubbed down, and none the worse for wear by having them out there.

My girls just turned nine weeks and have hit the "pecking order" phase. It is so different with Aussies because they are so naturally "mellow" (and funny) that one will challenge the other, getting all neck stretched and fluffed up, the other will do the same, then there will be a charge and a chest bump, and then,,,,,,,,BUG!!! and its all overAll three have their own personalities that are really coming out now, but it's definitely not hard to pick out who is going to be top hen.
