How months old is he? I think you are right, he seems to have a slight shade of brown on the back. In my opinion it's just a slight flaw

but if you wanted to have chicks, it would be better not to use this cockerel.

And if I bred him to my black hens... would the blue male chicks be black on top?

I have got black and white Aussies but I know breeders of blue Aussies so I've seen them

Here is my black austrolop hen with her two adopted babies. She was broody 2-1/2 monthes before I caved and got her babies.

And here is another one named Daisy who loves to be held anytime my husband comes outside.

Here are the pictures.... she was NOT having the foot picture so that's what I managed to get. She has not started laying yet but her friend in the second picture is the same age age and has been laying for 2 1/2 weeks so hopefully soon!

I just bought 3 more nice 4 month old Australorp pullets today (1 black, and 2 blues) from the Hupps Farm line from Chase to go with my other Australorps from Kurt of Rattlesnake Ridge. I am slowly building up that pen now!
