Hi lovely members,

Apologies if this has already been asked in another thread but I'm trying to find an automatic door solution for my Omlet Eglu Go. I called the company and apparently their door is only compatible with the Eglu cube.

With a newborn baby and full time job, I'm pretty sure an auto door would help stop me from stressing about the ladies if I have to be home late so it would be a total game changer if I could find a solution!

Thanks so much

Good morning!

I've got an Eglu Cube with the Autodoor. I think why it may not work with the Eglu Go is that the Cube has specific grooves, etc. for the optional installation of the Autodoor. To my knowledge, the Cube is also a newer model of coop than the Go, so it may just be that the Go does not have the hardware needed to have the Autodoor installed.

You could get a different brand of automatic door, though. Brinsea has an automatic door opener, but it only works with vertical sliding or vertical hinged doors.

The problem with Omlet's coop design is that very few third-party products can be used on them. (Good job, Omlet. You're makin' money here.) You could leave the attached hinged swinging door locked open, and install a coop door like this from Brinsea.

I hope this helps! I know how frustrating it is when coops don't turn out as planned.

Thank you so much for your response and sorry for the slow reply! This is incredibly helpful and you're right, Omlet has got the market cornered on this which is frustrating. I keep on saying I've spent more money on chickens than any other pet I've ever had!

I'll have a look into the door from Brinsea which might be a good option and could save me a lot of worry. Thank you again!

So wich one did you go with? I am still hunting. The price of the hentronix is stopping me in my tracks.

Hi,

I was curious if you were able to figure this problem out. I just got the Eglu Go Up.

I have the same issue. I am going to install an auto door on the run. It’s not the same, but will help. It’s my understanding that there is a door for the Eglu go up through the company in England. I’ve looked at it and do not like the design.
the other option, is to make a frame with the door installed to sit in front of the coop. It would probably look odd and might not seal as well, though.

I just purchased the Hentronix Eglu Go auto door and I am super excited to try it! The upgrades from the first version make it look pretty seamless and simple. While they are pricey, chicken sitters are pricier and more difficult to find sometimes! I opted to NOT purchase the wifi/app option so I hope I don't regret it, but it wasn't all that much more than the door for the Cube and is designed perfectly for the Eglu Go/Up. Here's hoping it works out, they have been good at answering my questions thus far, even from the UK to CA.
