Yup. She ate last night too, but she lovingly threw it up all over her box in the middle of the night after being all worked up over me separating the puppies.Has she been drinking water?

Yes, it's all over them now. One of them pooped and it got on everything, lol. Avery is getting a bath today because she's nasty.Have any of the yoodle bitty babies pooped yet?
It's not your fault, GeeSo... sad update. Avery ended up laying on the boy with the dark blue collar yesterday evening. I checked on them right before I came down to eat supper, and I had a camera on them too. He liked to snuggle next to her face, and I think he got under her too much. She probably moved a little to check on the nursing puppies and laid back down on him without noticing. I feel awful. We did the wider guard rails on her box and I thought that would prevent this, but I guess not. I found him when I checked them again as soon as I was done with supper, which I only took probably 15-20 minutes to finish. It happened so fast. I tried CPR for five minutes but I just couldn't get any response. I feel just horrible. He was my mom's favorite, and I think she's kind of blaming me for not taking them out and putting them in their box before leaving. I didn't hear or read anything about this being such an issue in all of my research. How was I supposed to know apparently they can't be left in with her at all? I thought they were supposed to be together all the time.
Anyway, I put the rest in their separate box overnight, and got up a few times to let them nurse, but Avery whimpered and complained all night and I slept only a couple hours again. I don't see how it's going to work long term but I can't let another get laid on. She's just so big, and even though she's trying to be really good, it's her first time and she doesn't really know what she's doing.

Another thing I just thought of....Yes, it's all over them now. One of them pooped and it got on everything, lol. Avery is getting a bath today because she's nasty.
Aw I'm sorry, I don't think it's your fault. I don't know any dog breeders who remove the puppies, I never did. This is a common thing, but it's not the fault of the breeder, she's just a new mama. I would personally never remove the puppies because of hypoglycemia, and I always want puppies who've been cared for and taught by their mom.So... sad update. Oh shizzle sticks. What does wider guardrails have to do with this incident? I'm confused.So... sad update. Avery ended up laying on the boy with the dark blue collar yesterday evening. Thanks duckie. It's not your fault, GeeShe's a first time mama, they're bound to make mistakes. I wish I could suggest something to help, but I don't know much about dog breeding
I'm so sorry you lost him

I have a roll of paper towels I've been using. They're already so messy, lol.Another thing I just thought of....
Baby wipes.
I remember I used to keep a container of baby wipes right there and as soon as I saw someone poop I would pick it up immediately.

Maybe go on the doberman chat forum and ask if they have suggestions, there's a ton of breeders over there, and they're all happy to help non-dobie owners.
Well, they're supposed to prevent them from laying on the puppies. He got stuck right under her rib cage area though and I guess just couldn't get out or make noise.Oh shizzle sticks. What does wider guardrails have to do with this incident? I'm confused.
She just accidentally laid on him and smothered him?
Don't stress this happens with new moms and snap out of it. You know this was not your fault.
Your mama is not blaming you I promise.
I would not remove the puppies or take them away from her if I were you.
The more she has them laying with her the better. She's going to learn how to keep an eye on them and not smush them.
Yep. They're super nice, don't be worried about posting in the Dobie specific areas of the forum, they love all dogs.Thanks.
Do you have a link to the forum?
Sorry to hear but it does happen occasionally. Those pups need to be with their mommy.So... sad update. Avery ended up laying on the boy with the dark blue collar yesterday evening.
