Post a pic of your AC. Im not saying the people who suggested it being an OE are wrong, but an OE is a mix breed. It could have some AC characteristics, but I can't imagine they are easy to get confused.

This is Umbra my AC cockerel.

Thank you for your response :) I apologize, I think my original post is causing some confusion. The little black hen pictured above in my first post has gone broody. I have two separate coops, the two hens and the rooster that I attached pics of to the original post are ones that I adopted and were unsure of the breed. When I found out the little black hen (pictured in my first thread) was broody I decided to take a few of my LA’s eggs (from my other coop) and stick them in with the broody because my LA is one of my favorite chickens & she resides in the other coop that also houses my AC roo. I will still attach pictures of my Ayam Cemani for you to see!

Ahhh, I see what you mean now. I thought someone said the AC was an OE.

I love Ayam Cemanis! One of my favourite breeds. I'll be working on sex links using my AC roo over a couple of Turken ladies. It's not my original idea, but I'm running with it.

I have a video on YouTude with AC and AC LA mix chicks.
Dust Bath In The Sun. FreeBird.Farm Video #2
The mix chicks have a comb like the LA and are black. They aren't as black skinned as AC though. Some grew up looking more like AC but when they started laying eggs, the eggs were green. They are supper nice and sweet hens.
I hope that mine are nice and sweet, too! Fingers crossed they do not get their personality from my AC roo.

Beautiful flock, btw! How are their personalities? My AC is VERY flighty and skittish. Can’t even get near him.

Their great. I see a lot of people say their AC roo is aggressive or flighty, but I've not experienced it. They currently run around with 22 ducks and 2 Turken pullets with no issues. Plus they come when I Quack which I find hilarious. I did watch him square off with Big Momma, a large Pekin duck, but she backed off.

Awww that is funny! That is awesome that you haven’t experienced that flighty/aggressive behavior. I’m hoping I don’t have that with all of these new babies!!

Also, regarding the white hen pictured in my first original post of this thread, i gave her three fertile eggs because I noticed she was fighting to sit on the ones that FiFi (black hen from original post) was already setting on. She went over to the three i put in there immediately and tucked them underneath her and sat on them for the remainder of the day. When I went to check on them and lock up the coop for the night, she was off the nest and roosting! What is going on here? FiFi is still on her nest.

In my big coop I have an Ayam Cemani rooster and a variety of hens. Among that variety is one of my favorites - my lavender ameraucana - named Lyla. She is beautiful and very calm, somewhat docile, I can pick her up if I have to but she doesn't necessarily love it. If I am in the run she will stay by me and jump up on my lap to kick one of my lap chickens off (jealous!) lol. Anyway, I stole some of Lyla's eggs and stuck them under the broody hen in the small coop to hatch. I am curious to what these chicks will look like. I also want to know if the roosters temperament is dominant or not, because I can NOT stand my AC roo! He is so skittish & flighty it drives me crazy. Please post pictures of your AC/LA crosses if anyone has done this before :love

I know this is an older post, but my Ayam Cemani roos and roosters have all always been the sweetest, smartest, and most mellow of any of my boys. I do have a lot of flighty breeds and spend quite a bit of time making sure they aren't, but I sit with them, sing to them, talk to them, tap the naughty ones on the butt for pecking others while eating...They know me as the Alpha. The boys are all second in command after me, so the hierarchy is pretty peaceful
🖤💖🖤

I haven't looked past your post yet, but was excited to see Cemani-Ameraucana crosses myself...I have a few black ones I can share, but no Lavenders yet...Still only a few months old, but beautiful all the same. This is Bruce and Selina
